Once upon a time …

Celina, also known as ‘Nene’ by her loved ones grew up in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Her dad used to catch frogs for dinner and met djins in the paddy fields. That's a mere illustration of her humble yet special beginning. The influence of growing up where a different dialect of Malay was spoken has resulted in a rare Chinese woman today who speaks Kelantanese, Malay and English fluently.

Celina and her spirit for adventure brought her to Universiti Malaysia Sabah after she completed her STPM. She had the rare experience of pouring over her studies by the beach with a ready supply of coffee from the nearby cafes. That heady combination with her natural inclination for detail and science brought her a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

Upon graduation …

3R represents 3 words - Respect, Respond and Relax. Out of the 3, Celina resonates with the word "respect" the most. She has an amazing amount of regard for the less fortunate and that truly inspires her to bring her heart to work.

Armed with her passion for social issues, Celina now uses her voice and talent to bring forth her believes and ideas through the mass media. Last year, she was elected as one of Unicef’s National Goodwill Ambassadors and as a spokeswoman for the awareness of children and AIDS, she never fails to share her passionate views on these issues to everyone around her.

Celina today has placed a big foot in the main arena of show business and is no longer the unknown new face of 3R. Last year, she starred in a lead supporting role for the film, "Bilut" (due in August 2006). In “Bilut”, Celina plays a role that is very different from the goofy, fun and happy characters she plays in 3R or the Gol & Gincu movie and series.

Miscellaneous Celina …

Many milestones mark her life and Celina constantly pushes herself to cross the next one. She is focused on anything she puts her mind to. She picked up volleyball for the first time recently and defied the stinging pain of the pounding ball to put up a good performance for her team of friends.

Celina has turned into a home maker recently. Moving out of her parents place for the first time was her step towards an independent life. She now shares her life with Sabastian Oliver, a mackerel cream British short-haired cat and Charlie Marley aka Charles Albert, the long haired peke-faced Persian. Charlie loves lounging around on his back and always seems to be in deep thought while Sabastian is always on his four feet doing the 100 m sprints. During her free time, Celina enjoys finding a cool comfortable spot to reflect on life, belly rubbing Charlie and Sabastian and pigging-out.
