Hotlink’s ‘Activate & Celebrate’ star-studded roadshow kicks off
Kuala Lumpur, 18 September 2004 – Led by a star-studded cast, Malaysia’s hottest mobile service Hotlink kicked off its ‘Activate & Celebrate’ roadshow beginning with Kuantan last Sunday. The roadshow will continue to four other destinations across Malaysia to activate youth nationwide.
Hotlink stars - 3R cast comprising CSelina, Kartini, Azah, Yuen and Rafidah, Akademi -Fantasia famed Vince, popular R&B singer Reshmonu and selected graduates from Akademi Fantasia 2 - are set to thrill fans and provide fun-filled entertainment both on and off stage.
“Visitors can look out for the hottest stars, hottest action and plenty of interactive fun at the ‘Activate & Celebrate’ roadshow. We urge everyone to come and experience what it feels like to be activated by Hotlink,” said Maxis Head of Prepaid Marketing Chee Loo Fun.
Lucky Hotlink customers will get a chance to get up close and personal with their favorite stars, at the Hotlink zone, where fans can get their pictures taken with their idols and have autographs signed. They also get a front row view of the stars on stage from the Hotlink zone that is specially reserved for Hotlink customers.
On top of that, the ‘Activate & Celebrate’ roadshow will feature a showcase of Hotlink’s latest promotions, products and services, and customers will be able to experience a 360 degree integrated entertainment event through 'live' performances and services such as Caller Ringtones, GPRS, MMS postcards, as well as downloads featuring S.H.E, and Siti Nurhaliza and much more..
Those interested in finding out about human rights and AIDS-related issues can check out the information booths by Amnesty International and Malaysian AIDS Council. And for viewers of 3R, they should head to the 3R booth to get special gifts from 3R, free makeovers from Maybelline and to give their suggestions on topics for the TV programme. And to stay alert and active throughout the day, visitors can go to the Lipton booth for refreshing Lipton mocktails.
“This roadshow is mainly to say thank you to all our fans for supporting us these four-and-a-half years,” says 3R Executive Producer Lina Tan. “Many of our viewers live outside of Kuala Lumpur and we often get requests to go and visit their towns. The ‘Activate & Celebrate’ roadshow provides an opportunity for us to meet them and find out more about what they would like to see in the programme.”
